Is There a Free People Promo Code?
There's no single public code printed on the site in October 2026. What Free People does offer is a personal code: its banner reads "Join The List! Get 10% Off Your Next Order," and the Current Promotions page says new SMS subscribers receive a 10% off code valid on freepeople.com and the Free People app. The fine print matters: the code doesn't work on sale items, FP Mart/Vintage items or gift cards, certain brands are excluded, and if you unsubscribe and re-subscribe you won't get a new one. Any other real code will appear on our Free People deals page.
Deal 1: 10% Off With Text Sign-Up
Use this on full-price pieces, since it can't be stacked onto sale styles. On a $198 pair of We The Free Emily Carpenter Jeans, 10% saves you $19.80. On a $228 Plaid Petal Maxi Dress it's $22.80. The code isn't valid for in-store purchases, so place the order online or in the app.
Deal 2: The Sale Section
When we checked, the All Sale page listed 810 products across dresses, denim, sweaters, shoes, swim, intimates and FP Movement. A few examples:
| Piece | Was | Sale price | You save |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sundazed Mini Dress | $128 | $49.95 | $78.05 |
| We The Free Risk Taker Mid-Rise Jeans | $98 | $69.95 | $28.05 |
| free-est Sassafras Sweater Set | $78 | $19.95 | $58.05 |
Watch for the "Final Sale" label: sale items ending in $.95 that are bought at an extra sale-on-sale discount and marked Final Sale can't be returned or exchanged.
Deal 3: Free Shipping (and Faster Shipping in the App)
Standard U.S. shipping costs $4.95, or nothing on website orders of $100+. Order through the Free People app instead and standard shipping is free on every U.S. order. App orders of $150 or more to U.S. and Australian addresses also get free express shipping (2–3 business days), which would otherwise cost $10.
Deal 4: Free Express Delivery for New Email Subscribers
Free People's mailing list page says email sign-ups receive free express delivery on their first order, plus early access to new arrivals and sales. Pair it with the text sign-up and your first order gets both a discount and faster shipping.
Deal 5: Price Adjustments and Easy Returns
If something you bought goes on sale, Free People offers a one-time price adjustment when you contact it within 14 days of the original shipment date (not for temporary promotions). Right now returns on U.S. orders are free for a limited time, exchanges for a different size or color are free, and purchases made from October 1 to December 24, 2026 can be refunded to your original payment through January 31, 2027. That makes early holiday shopping low-risk.

Free People Coupon FAQ
Does Free People have a first-order discount?
Yes. New SMS subscribers get a 10% off code for their first online order, and new email subscribers get free express delivery on their first order. The 10% code doesn't apply to sale items.
What's the free shipping minimum?
$100 for standard U.S. shipping on the website. App orders ship free with standard shipping at any amount.
Can I use the 10% code on sale items?
No. Free People's terms say the SMS code isn't valid on sale items, FP Mart/Vintage items or gift cards.
Are returns free?
For now, yes. A limited-time promotion offers free returns on orders shipping to the U.S. Final Sale, Vintage Loves and Nuuly Resale items can't be returned.
The Bottom Line
The smartest Free People order uses the 10% text code on full-price favorites, the Sale section for everything else, and the app for free shipping. Add the email sign-up for free express delivery and you've covered every real saving on the site. Check our Free People deals page before you buy.
