PSD Review 2026: Underwear Built for the Court, Printed for Attention

Pickup game, 6 p.m., someone's driveway. You didn't plan to play, you didn't bring shorts, and somehow it doesn't matter, because what you're wearing underneath was made for exactly this. That's the pitch from PSD: underwear loud enough to show off and built to move, in prints that range from Scooby-Doo to SpongeBob to a pack of tropical neon.

We went through PSD's collections, fabrics, multi-pack pricing and policies in October 2026. Here's what you get, which pair fits which person, and how to stop paying full price for underwear you'll want in every color.

The Story: Two College Guys and a Black RV

PSD's About page tells it plainly. Curt and Ryan Flaitz were broke college kids who could afford one pair of designer underwear for Friday nights, and they saw room for men's boxer briefs that were both comfortable and affordable. In 2007 they started PSD Underwear in upstate New York.

To get rolling, they spent their savings on a used RV, painted it black, added their logo and spent a year selling at car shows, sporting events and music festivals. Their first athlete was Stevie Johnson, then with the Buffalo Bills, who flashed the PSD waistband after a touchdown, a moment PSD says was covered by ESPN and Sports Illustrated. Athletes are still part of the DNA: the site's "Locker Room" features names like Ja Morant, Paolo Banchero and Mitch Marner.

What Makes It Different

PSD calls its pairs athleisure underwear: comfortable enough for everyday wear, functional enough to play basketball in without changing. On a typical men's style we checked, the product page lists:

  • Signature WaistBand that PSD calls ultra-comfortable.
  • A breathable MicroMesh pouch.
  • Four-way stretch fabric (88% polyester, 12% elastane on the Scooby-Doo pair), so it moves with you.
  • Legs that PSD says won't roll or ride, a big deal on long days.
  • Easy care: machine wash cold, tumble dry low.

Then there are the prints, PSD's real signature. Licensed collabs on the site include Marvel, DC Comics, SpongeBob SquarePants, Looney Tunes, The Simpsons, Rick and Morty, Scooby-Doo, Barbie, Care Bears, Jolly Rancher, Hershey's, 7-Eleven, Realtree and Hooey. If you prefer quiet, there's a Solids collection and a Luxe Modal line made with 91% modal.

Standard, Mid or Trunk length?

PSD sells men's styles in three leg lengths: Standard 7", Mid 5" and Trunk 3". Buy Standard if you're active or wear them under athletic shorts; the longer leg is the one PSD describes as built for everything. Buy Mid if you want a shorter look under slim jeans. Buy Trunk if you like a minimal cut.

Prints or Luxe Modal?

Pick a print if you want PSD's personality, and the choice is enormous. Pick Luxe Modal if you want the softest, most breathable pair for work days: PSD says it's made with 91% modal and has the same four-way stretch and Signature WaistBand.

For women

PSD's women's side includes boy shorts, cheeky and tanga cuts, bralettes and sports bras, many in matching prints. The SpongeBob Wild West Boy Short, for instance, uses a silky poly-blend with a full-coverage fit that PSD says is good for everyday wear and working out.
