Honeylove Materials Guide 2026: What Your Bras and Shapewear Are Really Made Of

Honeylove Materials Guide 2026: What Your Bras and Shapewear Are Really Made Of

Pinch the edge of a good bra between two fingers and you can feel the difference before you can name it. One fabric snaps back like a rubber band. Another feels brushed, almost suede-soft. A third is so thin at the edge it seems to vanish. That feeling is not luck. It's a fiber recipe, and Honeylove prints every recipe on its product pages.

This guide decodes those labels. WeartrialsLab read the fabric breakdowns on more than a dozen Honeylove bras, shapewear pieces and briefs in October 2026 and sorted them by what they're made of, so you can pick by feel, not by guesswork.

Who This Guide Is For

It's for anyone who has bought a bra that looked right and felt wrong, or who wants a tie-breaker between two styles at the same price. Every percentage below is copied from the "Fabric" section of each product page on honeylove.com. We don't add claims the brand doesn't make.

How to Read a Honeylove Fabric Label

Honeylove doesn't give one blend per garment. It breaks each piece into parts: Body, Lining, Mesh, Bra Cup and Gusset. That's useful, because the part touching your skin is not always the part doing the holding.

  • Nylon is the backbone of almost everything. It gives the smooth, slightly cool surface.
  • Elastane, spandex or LYCRA® elastane are the stretch. The higher the percentage, the more the fabric pushes back when you move.
  • Cotton, lyocell and polyester show up in specific spots: gussets, cup linings and the softer underwear lines.

So the quick rule is simple: read the elastane number on the Body line to understand how firm a piece will feel, then read the Gusset and Lining lines to understand how it will feel against you.

The Power Fabrics: Shapewear That Holds Its Ground

The shapewear lines carry the highest stretch content in the catalog. The SuperPower Short ($89) has a body of 66% nylon and 34% LYCRA® elastane, plus two separate linings and a mesh section, each with its own blend. The No-Show High-Waist Short ($89) goes further: a 50/50 nylon and LYCRA® elastane body, a nylon flocking layer and LYCRA® ADAPTIV fibers that Honeylove says are made so nothing shows through, even under delicate fabrics.

Then there's the Queen Brief ($84). Its label lists five parts: a 65/35 nylon-elastane body, a lining, two different meshes and a 100% cotton gusset. Honeylove describes an hourglass doubleknit compression panel and a mesh brief bottom with a flat, engineered finish. In daily life, that means firm hold through the middle and a smooth line under trousers, without a thick elastic band at the leg.

Buy this if: you want the firmest feel in the range. Look for a Body line with 34% elastane or more, and check that the gusset reads 100% cotton, as it does on the SuperPower Short, No-Show Short and Queen Brief.

Mesh, Bonding and Silicone: The Invisible Engineering

Look closely at a Honeylove bra and you'll find very few traditional stitched seams. Instead, the brand leans on three building blocks:

  • Engineered mesh. The CrossOver Bra ($69) pairs a 64% nylon, 36% spandex body with a 65/35 mesh. The CrossMesh Bra ($59) uses mesh that Honeylove says flattens and smooths at the cup edge.
  • CloudFuse silicone bonding. On the CrossFlex Activity Bra ($74), a silicone-cushioned band and CloudFuse bonding take the place of an underwire. You can spot the word "CloudFuse" printed on the side band.
  • Flocked silicone. The Silhouette Bra ($64) uses flat, stretch silicone coated in what the brand calls "velvetine flocking," set into a bonded cradle with raw-cut edges.

Why it matters: bonded edges lie flatter than folded, stitched ones. Under a fine-gauge sweater or a fitted tee, that's the difference between a smooth line and a visible ridge.

Wire, Foam and Cups: What Gives a Bra Its Shape

Honeylove's underwire is called CloudWire. On the CloudEmbrace Bra with CloudWire ($79), the brand says the flexible wire is wrapped in light, airy foam, and the cups are molded "marshmallow foam." The body fabric is 76% nylon and 24% elastane.

Wireless styles get their shape differently. The X Balance Bra ($74) lists a 100% polyester bra cup, a 74/26 nylon-elastane body and floating mesh at the neckline. The CrossOver uses a bonded cradle with side boning instead of a wire.

Buy this if: you like the lift of an underwire but hate feeling it. A foam-wrapped CloudWire style is the one to try first.

The Softer Side: Cotton and Lyocell

Not every Honeylove piece is about compression. Two underwear lines are built around natural or plant-based fibers, and they're among the lowest-priced items on the site:

  • SoftForm Cotton High-Rise Brief ($19): 84% cotton and 16% elastane. Honeylove describes four-way stretch cotton with no harsh elastic bands at the waist or legs.
  • BlissWear High-Rise Brief ($22): 91% lyocell and 9% elastane, with a 100% cotton gusset. The brand calls the fabric Blissknit™ and says there's no compression here at all.

The NeoStretch High-Rise Brief ($16) sits in between: 80% nylon and 20% elastane, again with a cotton gusset.

What the Materials Mean at Laundry Time

Fabric and care go together. The bonded, high-stretch pieces, including the SuperPower Short, CloudEmbrace and X Balance, are labeled hand wash cold. The CrossOver Bra, cotton brief and BlissWear brief are labeled machine wash cold. Every label we read ends with line dry. If you want the low-effort option, pick from the machine-washable list.

Before You Order

Know the return terms first: 30 days for unworn items with hangtags and liners attached. The returns page header says eligible returns are free, while the written policy mentions a $20 return fee deducted from refunds, so check the portal for your order. Final Sale items can't come back. US standard shipping is free over $100; under that it's $6.99.

The Bottom Line

Honeylove is unusually open about what goes into its pieces, and that makes choosing easier. Want firm hold? Look for high elastane and doubleknit panels. Want a bra that disappears? Look for bonding, silicone and foam. Want something soft for the weekend? Start with the cotton or lyocell briefs. Then check our Honeylove deals page before you order.
