Astrid & Miyu Review 2026: The London Jewelry Brand Built for Ear Stacks

There's a particular kind of happy that comes from a well-built ear stack: a tiny huggie in the lobe, a sparkle of crystal higher up, a chunky gold hoop that catches the light every time you turn your head. Add a fine chain with three little stars at the collarbone, and suddenly a plain white tee looks styled.
That's the feeling Astrid & Miyu sells. The London jewelry brand has made "build your stack" its whole personality, with huggies, hoops, charms and solid gold pieces designed to be worn together and added to over time. We went through the U.S. site's prices, materials and policies in October 2026. Here's what you get, what to buy first, and how to pay less.
The Story: From Glass Counters to Ear-Stack Studios
Astrid & Miyu was founded in 2012 by Connie Nam, who was born in Seoul. Its About page says she found jewelry shopping "stale and impersonal," with pieces locked behind glass counters, and set out to build something more personal and sentimental.
That idea shows up in the stores. Alongside its many UK locations, Astrid & Miyu lists four U.S. stores: Abbot Kinney in Venice, California, plus Bloomingdale's 59th Street, Madison Avenue and the West Village in New York. The U.S. stores offer piercing, Story Chain and (in New York) permanent jewelry. So the brand you scroll at midnight is also somewhere you can walk in and get your next piercing styled.
What Makes It Different: Made for Stacking
- Recycled metals. Most everyday pieces are 18k gold plated recycled sterling silver, with cubic zirconia stones on the sparkly styles.
- A real solid gold line. The fine jewelry is crafted in 14k 100% recycled gold, which the brand describes as waterproof and made for everyday wear, with lab-grown diamonds on many pieces.
- Placement guidance on every earring. Product pages list which piercings a style suits, such as lobes and upper lobes, so you can plan a stack instead of guessing.
- Exact measurements. The Cosmic Star Huggies, for example, list a 7mm inner diameter, 11mm outer diameter, 2mm thickness and 0.6g weight. That's the kind of detail that helps you picture how a piece will sit.
- Packaging you'll keep. Jewelry arrives in a box the brand calls 100% recyclable, with a reusable suedette pouch.

Your first three pieces
If you're starting from zero, a simple trio does the job: a plain huggie (Essential, $90), a sparkly huggie (Cosmic Star, $95) and a stud (Pear Cluster, $65). Both huggies list lobe and upper-lobe placements, and the trio comes to $250. Wear them all together on weekends, or just the Essentials for the office.
Plated or solid gold?
The plated pieces are 18k gold over recycled sterling silver, and the brand's own care notes call them costume jewelry that needs looking after: keep them away from water, sweat, perfume and lotion, and store them in the pouch. Solid gold is 14k recycled gold and described as waterproof, so you can leave it in. Buy plated if you love to change your look often; buy solid gold for the pieces you never take off.
Is the advent calendar worth it?
The 2026 Advent Calendars were promoted with "Save up to 55%" (the 12 Day Calendar in Gold carried a "Save 55%" badge), and the site said the Silver 24 Day Calendar had already sold out. If you'd buy several pieces anyway, the 12 Day Calendar in Gold ($535) bundles them with a dose of daily fun. If you only want one or two styles, buying them individually is the smarter move.
